Jako většina podobných programů, dokáže Internet Download Manager (IDM) stahovat více souborů současně, navázat na přerušené stahování, automaticky přebírat stahované soubory z MS Internet Exploreru nebo Netscape Communicatoru, ...
Program dokáže stahovat více souborů najednou. Průběh každého procesu můžete sledovat zvlášť v procentuálním a grafickém znázornění.
Hlavní okno programu je téměř celé obsazeno přehledným výpisem stahovaných a stažených souborů - u každého vidíte název souboru, celkovou velikost, kolik procent je staženo a popisek, který si můžete ke každé úloze napsat. Pokud stahování právě probíhá, vidíte také aktuální rychlost přenosu.
