Vstoupíte do temného a záhadného světa Ninja Blade, kde hráči dostanou epický úkol bránit Tokio, ale také chránit sami sebe od hrůzné genetické choroby zmutování. Vysoko na vrcholu tyčících se mrakodrapů současného moderního Tokia, stojí Ken Ogawa a jeho tým zkušených ninjů, kteří jsou zde za účelem zničení infikované zrůdné hordy a zastavit tak rozšiřující se chorobu, jakou ještě lidstvo nezažilo. Události však vezmou velice rychlý obrat a Ken spolu se svým týmem je zrazen a to dokonce zevnitř, svými vlastními lidmi a nadřízenými. Po velice těsném úniku před smrtí, je Ken zanechán sám skličujícímu boji a to především se strašnou šířící se nemocí, ale také musí zjistit a pochopit, proč byl zrazen a kdo za tím stojí. Ken vyzbrojený slušným arzenálem specializovaných ninja zbraní, nástrojů a schopností včetně mocných sil Ninja Vision a Todome, je vložen do rukou hráčů a ti za něj musí bojovat a to zrovna s ne moc dobrými vyhlídkami na úspěch, ale snad tak ještě jednou přinést mír a pořádek do Tokia.

Nicméně to nijak nepřekáží tomu, aby šlo o velice zábavnou hru, která jde až na samou dřeň hratelnosti a nesnaží se za každou cenu přinášet zlomové herní prvky, hluboké filosofické a umělecké zážitky nebo epický příběh přetékající upřímným i falešným patosem. Kdepak, Ninja Blade jde přímočarou cestou nonstop akce a hyperstylizace, v níž se nebojí dělat si legraci sám ze sebe.

This tale is told through a series of cutscenes and quick-time-events (sequences where the player is required to push a series of buttons as they flash on the screen to interact with a cutscene) in a fairly traditional anime fashion. With voiceovers that switch between English and Japanese and a fractured storyline, Ninja Blade toes the line between something mainstream America will be familiar with and a story that feels foreign.
If you?re going to play Ninja Blade, it?s for the totally ridiculous and over-the-top action that closes out each level. Ken Ogawa doesn?t just kill these parasitic monsters of the night. He ends them with the kind of style great B-movies are made of. What?s the best way to kill a giant spider? With a wrecking ball, of course. Cars and rubble flying through the air aren?t just debris. They?re platforms to run atop and jump off. These are all played out through quick-time-events to keep the player engaged, not that you really need any encouragement. These kill moves had the entire IGN editorial office cheering at their sheer lunacy.

Ninja Blade je akčná adventúra, ktorá sa odohráva v modernom Tokiu. Záhadne sa objavili paraziti, známi ako alpha-červi, a spustili vlnu ľudského ničenia, keď sa začali rýchlo šíriť smerom na východ, kde sa približujú k pobrežiu Tokia. Keď budúcnosť ľudstva visí na vlásku, vznikne exkluzívny a elitný tím s veľmi špeciálnymi schopnosťami, ktorý má eliminovať nápor nepriateľa a samozrejme zachrániť ľudstvo pred úplným zničením.
